The Role

At Moment, the Platform team’s job is to pave the road for success. We exist to help engineers move quicker, safer, and with deeper visibility. We treat our inter- nal platform as a product, with our engineers as the customers. We are looking for an engineer who can balance high‑level architectural design in AWS with low‑level backend coding in Go. You will bridge the gap between infrastructure and application code. You will find and implement opportunities to increase every developer’s leverage.

What you'll do...

- Architect "golden paths”. You will build and maintain the core shared libraries,SDKs, and code‑generation tools (gRPC, OpenAPI) that power our entire engi-neering organization. Our goal is to abstract away complexity so productteams can ship features faster and safer. - Design and optimize cloud infrastructure. You will take ownership of our AWSecosystem (ECS, RDS, MSK, etc.). You will design capable architectures on awhiteboard and are comfortable getting your hands dirty debugging produc-tion performance, tuning database parameters, and automating toil. - Treat the platform as the product. You will embed with product teams to under-stand their friction points, treating them as your customers. You will championa philosophy where we build tools that are intuitive and helpful. - Elevate observability. You will set the standard for how we observe and debugour systems. This involves going deep into the stack to debug distributed sys-tem failures, improving our alerting strategy to reduce noise, and teaching thewider engineering team how to troubleshoot effectively. - Be a mentor and technical leader. You will also drive technical standards acrossthe company by documenting patterns, writing clear guides, presenting to allengineers, and mentoring engineers on best practices.

You’re a good fit if you have

- You have deep expertise in backend programming. You have significant expe-rience building high‑performance backend services or libraries. You under-stand the nuances of the language and how to write code that others find easyto read and import. - You have deep cloud fluency. You have architected and managed produc-tion workloads on AWS or other clouds. You know your way around ECS,RDS, Lambda and data streaming services, and you understand the trade‑offsbetween cost, performance, and complexity. - You have a DevEx mindset. You have a history of building tools that make devel-opers' lives easier. You understand that documentation is a feature, and youtake pride in writing clear, accessible guides for your tools.
