The Prompting Company is hiring Founding Ops to take the company off the founders' plates.

We're 7 people in San Francisco, post-seed, with real customers. The founders are still doing too much of recruiting, finance, legal, vendors, and internal systems. You will own that.

This is a true founding role. You will build the operating system of the company: hiring ops, finance/admin, legal/vendors, tools, office, and the glue that lets GTM and engineering move faster. There is no ops team and no playbook. You'll write it.

What you'll do

• Run recruiting ops end to end (pipeline, scheduling, offers, onboarding)
• Own finance and admin: billing, vendors, payroll coordination, contracts
• Set up and keep internal tools actually working (Slack, Google, customer systems)
• Make SF office and in-person operations work
• Spot process holes before they become founder time sinks

You might be a fit if you've

• Run ops, chief of staff, or founding-ops at a real startup (not campus clubs)
• Graduated and already held a real job. This is not a first-job seat.
• Are high-agency, detail-obsessed, and fine with incomplete information
• Are in San Francisco or will relocate. This is not remote.

Hard engineering problems we work on: Crawl, transform, and serve structured content that LLMs and agents can understand, retrieve, and use.

Run large-scale prompt experiments and agent workflow evaluations to understand how AI systems discover products, compare options, and complete tasks.

Build infrastructure to simulate, trace, and debug agent behavior across docs, websites, APIs, SDKs, and product workflows.

Track token-level cost, caching, deduplication, and latency for high-volume AI and agent traffic.

Build analytics for Share of Voice, competitive visibility, workflow success rates, and agent failure points across models.

Our stack:

Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js.

Backend: Go.

Data: Postgres and pgvector, Tinybird for analytics.

Infra: Kubernetes, Cloudflare Workers, CDN-first edge routing.

1. One founder call. We’ll talk through your background, an ops system you’ve built, and whether this seat is a fit.
2. A one-week paid work trial. You’ll work with us on real company ops (hiring ops, tools, or an internal process) so we can see how you think and execute. If the trial goes well, we move quickly to an offer.

There are no extra interview rounds. The whole process is one call, then one week of real work. Every conversation is with a founder. We keep the trial scoped to actual work, not spec homework, and we’ll be direct about what you’d own in the first ninety days.
