Property Advisor - II

Two thirds of Indian court cases are land related. Our solution to this is Landeed, India's fastest and most comprehensive title search engine. We are now actively growing our engineering and product teams to expand our title coverage to more Indian states and build an enterprise platform for government bodies and corporates alike.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Two thirds of court cases in India are about land. Behind that number are people who bought a property without knowing what they were buying — a disputed title, an unpaid loan against it, an heir nobody mentioned.

Most people come to Landeed with one small question and one small document. Our job is to make sure they find out what they actually need to know before they commit their savings.

That conversation is your job. You speak to people who have just run a search, understand what they are really trying to do, and tell them plainly what it would take to be certain. Sometimes that means a fuller set of checks. Often it does not, and saying so is just as much the work.

We are hiring 8 Property Advisors. We care far more about how you think and how you speak than how many years you have worked.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Speak with people who have just run a search, in their own language, while the decision is still live
• Understand what someone is actually worried about before recommending anything
• Recommend the right level of diligence for their situation — including when what they already have is enough
• Hand over clearly to our operations team, because what you promise is what they have to deliver
• Bring back the things people keep misunderstanding, so we can fix them in the product
• Keep our records accurate, so the next person who speaks to that customer knows what happened

You will have a target. It is there because every conversation that lands is one more person who did not buy blind.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for hungry, well-spoken people early in their careers. Around 1–3 years of experience is typical, but we will happily take a brilliant fresher over a mediocre five-year veteran.

• Fluent English plus at least two of Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada or Marathi. Most of these conversations do not happen in English.
• You can explain something legally complicated to an anxious person without patronising them and without overselling
• You take real satisfaction in someone understanding something they did not understand an hour ago
• You will learn property documentation properly. We will teach you; you have to want it.
• Graduates from any discipline

COMPENSATION

₹5.5L – ₹6.5L fixed, plus ₹1.8L – ₹3.6L variable. On-target earnings ₹7.3L – ₹10.1L.

The variable is paid monthly and is uncapped.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

1. Intro call (20 min), partly in your regional language
2. Live conversation (45 min) — someone has bought an encumbrance certificate and does not know what to do next
3. Judgement conversation (30 min) — a few real customer situations and what you would recommend
4. Founder conversation (30 min)

We move fast. The whole process takes under a week.

Rust, gRPC, and PostgreSQL on AWS. We're building a next-generation API, prioritising good tools for getting code from local to prod with minimal red tape and review. We're also working on new tools like a dynamically created DAG of automated workflows that will pick apart and analyze ownership history, making the information immediately available to the user.

React Native, Redux, CodePush, Detox, and RNTL. React Native has allowed us to prototype extremely quickly, taking an average of 3 weeks to release entirely new apps. We focus on ease of use and quick iteration, gathering feedback from users and pushing updates immediately with codepush. We've also developed a custom framework for forced updates when breaking changes are required.
