About VergeSense

Our Company

The future of work is increasingly complex — remote workers, distributed teams, flexible multi-tenant office space — and the dynamic of how workers interact with each other and how workers interact with their physical space is changing.

VergeSense is building an easy-to-deploy space utilization & sensing platform that helps real estate professionals monitor foot-traffic within buildings. Data from our platform is used to improve building layout & design, execute dynamic workforce strategies, and reduce energy costs. For large clients, the financial impact is in the tens of millions per year. We provide a full-stack solution comprised of easy-to-deploy AI-sensors, fleet management tools, analytics software, and APIs that integrate with the leading workplace management systems on the market.

Current Events

We are in unprecedented times, and workplace tech is especially needed to help companies plan for a post-COVID workplace. Our AI-powered sensing products and platform are being called on more than ever to serve commercial real estate operators and employees of the modern workforce. We have been at the center of space planning conversations focused on helping companies comply with public health guidelines of social distancing, sanitation, among other applications. As companies plan the return to work for their teams, we are working with speed, accuracy, and care to deliver a crucial service in this transitional time.

Our Product

Deployed in minutes, our high-accuracy quick-installation sensors are able to identify the presence of people and key objects in the context of an office environment that signal how space is being used. Our analytics platform creates a sphere of intelligence within properties and provides actionable insights and AI-powered recommendations to help building managers make effective space planning decisions.

We’re building and training our sensors to become even smarter, with the goal of catering to an even wider range of customers, use cases, and industries. Our sensor-as-a-system and intuitive analytics dashboard provide a real-time view into what is happening in a space, and over time our sensors automatically learn to detect new types of events on the go.

Our Community

We are a lean, fast-moving, impact-focused (and fun!) team of 60+ across San Francisco HQ, Minneapolis, Boston, and remote locations. We count the Fortune 500 among our customers and are backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Allegion Ventures, JLL, Bolt, Pathbreaker Ventures, with strong financial runway. We're always looking to add amazing individuals to our team.

We believe in allowing people to apply their strengths toward doing work they find meaningful. We value creativity and resourcefulness in team members, and would love to hear where you believe your contributions would be most impactful.

About the role

Our Company

The workplace has undergone a complete transformation. Historically, occupancy was consistent; everyone worked in the office five days per week. But in today’s world, occupancy is inconsistent, unpredictable, and dynamic, as work has become more flexible than ever before. To make decisions with confidence, workplace, CRE, and facilities management leaders need a true understanding of how and when their spaces are used.

VergeSense is the company behind the world’s first and only Occupancy Intelligence Platform. Over 220 companies across 50 countries and 140M sqft rely on occupancy intelligence to make confident, fact-based optimization decisions to improve employee experience and decrease costs. VergeSense customers use our Occupancy Intelligence Platform, which is built on a foundation of the industry's most accurate occupancy sensors and other data sources, to right-size their portfolio, validate space planning and designs, optimize cleaning operations, and ensure their teams can always find spaces to work.

The Opportunity

Every large company makes high-stakes decisions about their physical workplaces: which floors to consolidate, how to redesign space after a reorg, when to trigger a restack before the problem becomes urgent. Today, those decisions are made slowly, manually, and often too late. CRE teams pull data from multiple disconnected systems, build scenarios in spreadsheets, and deliver recommendations that are already stale.

VergeSense is changing that. We are the industry leader in workplace intelligence, with a sensor platform covering millions of square feet across Fortune 2000 enterprises. Our Large Spatial Model is trained on billions of data points and years of behavioral data, giving us an understanding of how people actually use space that no one else has.

Our Predictive Planning product turns that intelligence into decisions, compressing multi-step manual planning and operational workflows into AI-assisted experiences for corporate real estate teams.

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to own one of these workflows end-to-end. The PM who thrives here is someone drawn to the full problem space: how enterprises make decisions about physical space, where AI can replace broken manual processes, and what it takes to build trust in AI-generated recommendations at the enterprise level.

What You Will Do

  • Own a planning or operational workflow end-to-end: vision, customer discovery, roadmap, engineering partnership, and commercial outcome.
  • Define where AI stops and the human decision starts. Our agents are goal-seeking systems that detect planning triggers, assemble data, and generate scenarios. You will set the automation boundaries and design the human review experience.
  • Build products that work with messy enterprise data. HRIS feeds, badge systems, lease records, and occupancy sensors all tell part of the story. You will design for the reality that clean data is the exception.
  • Ship the first version within your first two quarters. This is a hands-on building role with real commercial pressure and named enterprise accounts waiting for the product. You will be in the tool daily, not managing from a distance.
  • Partner closely with the existing product team. You will work alongside a strong GTM-oriented PM and a design leader who together own adjacent workflows.

What This Role Requires

  • 6+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with demonstrated experience owning data-intensive or analytics products.
  • You have taken a complex, multi-step manual workflow and shipped a product that meaningfully automated it. This is the single most important signal we are looking for.
  • Experience building products that involve data from multiple enterprise systems. You understand that clean data is the exception and you design for the failure modes.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a product domain end-to-end: vision, discovery, roadmap, engineering partnership, and commercial outcome.
  • Quantitative fluency. You define success metrics before building. You can evaluate model outputs, catch wrong answers, and translate data quality problems into product decisions.
  • Executive communication quality. You lead with the recommendation. You have presented to C-suite or board-level audiences. You produce tight decision documents, not exploratory overviews.
  • Experience with prioritization under commercial pressure. You know how to sequence a roadmap against named deals and pipeline value, not just user needs.

Benefits

• A high-impact role in an emerging industry leader

• Competitive compensation and equity

• Employer-sponsored medical

• Dental and vision insurance (dependent on location)

• Open Vacation policy: take time off when you need it

We value people from all walks of life who exhibit kindness, curiosity, discipline, humility, and passion to excel at what they do. If you would like to contribute to our team, we encourage you to apply.

Technology

On the software-side, our current stack uses Rails, React, Heroku, a variety of AWS Services (AWS IoT, Redshift, DynamoDB), Docker (for managing fleets of IoT devices) and Tensorflow for machine-learning.

For the hardware-side piece of our product, we're using ESP MCUs, gateway devices that run Ubuntu Core, Raspberry Pis (for prototyping), and a variety of different sensors (image, PIR, temperature / environmental, etc).
