Founding Content Lead

We turn local creators into the marketing engine for the businesses in their own neighborhood. Creators who live nearby come in, eat, film, and post.

Owners tell us people walk in every day saying "we saw you on TikTok." Almost half our new restaurants come from other owners referring us.

AI agents run the operation end to end. They match creators to restaurants, book the visits, track the content, and handle all conversations over iMessage. Hundreds of visits a month, almost none of it touched by a human.

We're live with restaurants in Southern California and growing 40% month over month.

You are the voice of TryNearby on the internet. You'll work closely with Yousef, our co-founder, to build out the whole voice, face, and feel of this company online.

A lot of this job happens outside. You'll be on a street in Costa Mesa with a mic asking someone where they eat. You'll be in a half-empty restaurant on a Tuesday talking to the owner, handing them a card and telling them what we do. Then you go home and cut it.

The goal is simple and it's measured: get creators to sign up, and get restaurant owners to want in. Not agency work, not brand marketing, not social media management. This is for someone who knows what makes people click and can take content from idea to posted without anyone's help.

Our channels. @TryNearby on TikTok and Instagram, end to end. Showing up to restaurants 2-4x a week, filming POV on Meta glasses and interview style with a branded mic, and posting every other day. As new pages launch, we'll figure them out together.

@ApexInSoCal. You run these pages with Yousef (TikTok & Instagram). Visits scheduled properly, edits done, sent over for voiceover, posted every day. You don't have to shoot and cut every one yourself, but you're the one responsible for it being posted.

UGC. Two pages to start and more as we add campaigns. You're not the talent here. You make sure the videos go out on schedule.

The inbox. Comments and DMs across both accounts actually get answered. You handle what's yours and route the rest: creator questions to our creator lead, restaurant inquiries to sales and ops.

The funnel. Every video ends somewhere. You're measured on qualified inbound leads from content and creator signups from social.

The first impression. When you're standing in front of an owner, you are the company. Some of them sign up because of you.

Required

• Comfortable filming in public and talking to strangers and restaurant owners on camera
• A fast editor. Same-day or next-day turnaround
• Internet native. You've made things people actually watched, and you can tell us why they worked
• You can run production, not just make it. Half this job is making sure other people's edits, voiceovers, and posts land on time
• Self-directed. Nobody is hand-holding you on shoot days
• Based in Orange County / willing to relocate, able to work onsite and drive around SoCal daily
• This isn't a 9-to-5

• You've grown a page of your own
• You've managed freelancers or UGC creators
• Restaurant industry or creator economy experience

We're building long-horizon conversational agents that operate in the physical world.

You'll work across Postgres, REST APIs, multi-agent harnesses, async workflows, memory management, and iMessage and SMS infrastructure. Conversation is our main product surface, so messaging is core infrastructure here rather than a channel we bolted on.

We work heavily with AI coding tools and expect you to as well. Your work will span backend infrastructure, agent systems, and the apps our restaurants and creators use. You'll own architectural decisions and take ideas from prototype to production.
