We’re fixing one of the most broken and costly pieces of the US healthcare system: medical billing.

Today, healthcare providers spend over $250B each year on administrative overhead just to get paid by insurance. Medical billing is expensive because it’s nuanced and hard - maybe ~100x harder than credit card payment processing - and because it’s traditionally done by armies of humans who track and manage complex rules and processes specific to individual insurance companies with little or no supporting software.

We’re rethinking medical billing from the ground up, using data science and machine learning to automate much of this complexity, so healthcare providers can get paid dramatically more easily and inexpensively.

Since finishing the Y Combinator W20 batch we've been funded by an incredible group of funds + angel investors. We have many more customers begging to use our product than we have bandwidth to serve, which is why we need you to help us scale!

We are looking for a forward-thinking Founding Technical Sourcer to build and scale our sourcing function from 0 to 1. As the first in this seat, you won't just execute outreach; you will architect the entire sourcing strategy, set up our AI infrastructure, define key success metrics, and build the blueprint for how we attract top industry talent.

• 0-to-1 Strategy & Architecture: Define the vision, OKRs, and operational model for a sourcing function, implementing and optimizing the tech stack to drive scalable candidate generation.
• AI & Workflow Automation: Deploy, configure, and manage AI sourcing agents to automate candidate discovery, top-of-funnel messaging, multi-touch engagement, and lead-nurturing workflows.
• Talent Branding & Event Strategy: Design and execute targeted tech events, meetups, and develop campaigns to position our team as an employer of choice and generate sustained passive inbound pipeline.
• Domain Mastery: Lead technical intake sessions with engineering leaders, utilizing a high slope of learning to master complex tech stacks, niche roles, and shifting priorities on the fly. You’ll operate your own funnel and generate leverage for others on the team.
• Candidate Engagement: Craft hyper-personalized outreach strategies across various platforms, optimizing conversion metrics at every stage of the funnel.

• 5+ Years of Technical Sourcing Experience in High Growth Environments: You’ve seen and impacted growth at Series D+ startups or hyper-scale companies with quantifiable talent bars.
• 0-to-1 Sourcing Experience: Demonstrated success building sourcing strategies from scratch or acting as a lead sourcer defining strategy and metrics for a growing function.
• AI & Technical Fluency: Hands-on experience implementing AI-powered sourcing tools, custom automation tools, and generative AI messaging systems.
• Learning Velocity: High capacity to rapidly digest complex technical concepts, tools, and developer domains during hiring manager intakes.
• Brand & Event Execution: Proven track record of leveraging community events, technical branding, and content to build passive inbound talent pipelines.
• Data & Process Ownership: Strong analytical baseline to measure funnel conversions, iterate on outreach experiments, and report directly on strategy outcomes to leadership.

The estimated starting annual salary range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000 USD. The listed range is a guideline from Pave Data, and the actual base salary may be modified based on factors including job-related skills, experience/qualifications, interview performance, market data, etc. Given Candid Health’s funding and size, we heavily value the potential upside from equity in our compensation package. Further note that Candid Health has a loose approach to titling and broad ranges of experience represented within roles.

Back: modern Python (async, type annotated) ~mini services, Celery + Redis for task queues, Postgres.

Front: Typescript + React. Good use of hooks + styled components.

Infra: Containerize all the things. docker-compose locally, Kuberntes + Istio on GCP. Pretty sophisticated developer tooling + CI (Github Actions) given our size.
